An Anniversary Edition is a record brought back to mark a date: twenty years since an album, thirty years of a label. Jarre put Oxygene out again this way, and Oxia did the same with Domino for its twentieth year. Do it Yourself built a whole DIY's 30th Anniversary run, with laser-etched sides on titles from Gala and The Soundlovers. The anniversary is about the date, not always a reworked sound, so check what each pressing actually states. These runs tend to be made to last, so grab them while they come round.
