Chip E – The Architect Of House - Chicago 1984-88. Volume 2: Unreleased Jack
The second volume of Still Music's anthology devoted to Chip E, one of the true architects of Chicago house in the 1980s. This one digs into the unreleased: "Time to Jack" in studio demo, acapella and "Art of Jack Remix" form, "Like This" resurfacing as a "Big Drum Dub," plus rare cuts like "Would You Leave Your Boyfriend" and "House People." The highlight is the "It's Hot Mix" of "Like This" by Frankie Knuckles — a precious reworking from the late Godfather of House, who passed in 2014. Raw jack, hard-hitting machines, the original Chicago sound captured at the source. Brand-new pressing, available to pre-order: an archival record for anyone wanting to trace house back to its foundations.
