ORBE – GRADIENT
ORBE is Fernando Sanz, a Spanish producer from Algeciras and the head of Orbe Records, which he's run since 2014. His techno is never blunt: dreamlike atmospheres, understated drum-machine patterns and slow hypnosis, with that dub-acid grain that's won over the likes of Nina Kraviz and Marcel Dettmann. On "Gradient" he holds the thread throughout. "Submerged" opens deep and submerged, with quiet tension and a pushing bassline; "Downward Pressure" digs in harder on the B-side, denser and more physical. The title track and "Landau" keep that mental texture, built for the deep hours of a set. Prime ORBE, right where it belongs on his own label. New vinyl, audio previews on the product page.
