Sascha Funke – Planes In Reverse LP
New Sascha Funke album on Kompakt — the Cologne label he's been tied to since the very start, his debut EP Campus being one of its earliest releases. The Berliner from Lichtenberg, who cut his teeth DJing at E-Werk and SO36 and made his first tracks alongside Paul Kalkbrenner, deals in melodic, sentimental techno shaped by synth-pop, new wave and Krautrock. That signature runs through Planes In Reverse: eight cuts moving from What You See to Zockers, taking in Karat, The Park and Shadows Into Stars, where melody always leads over showmanship. Solo Funke at his best — club-ready and introspective at once. New vinyl, audio clips on the product page.
