Richard Bona – Reverence

Richard Bona's second solo album, Reverence (2001) cemented the Cameroonian bassist and singer as one of the most distinctive voices in contemporary jazz. It's that deeply personal blend of jazz, fusion and African roots: a silky fretless bass, breathing melodies and the Douala-language vocals that became his signature. Bona writes, plays and sings throughout, delivering a record where virtuosity never overshadows feeling. A world-jazz classic, reissued here on vinyl by Music On Vinyl, a label known for the care it puts into its pressings. Best played from start to finish. Pre-order, release scheduled for 8 January 2027.
