VARIOUS ARTISTS – QUINCE (3LP)
Non Series turns fifteen, and Psyk's Madrid label marks the occasion the only way it knows how: a hypnotic, serious compilation built for sound systems that hit hard. Three records, twelve tracks, and a line-up that captures the house style perfectly. You get the precision of Rrose, born out of the Sandwell District camp, the textures of Function and Efdemin, Mathew Jonson's mineral groove on "Timelines," plus Evigt Mörker, Peryl and Vladw opening proceedings. Most of these artists had never released original music on Non Series before, which is exactly the point: an extended family portrait united by the same taste for deep, no-nonsense techno. A triple-vinyl set for collectors of lasting sound.
