Tori AMOS – Professional Widow
One of the great '90s house hijackings: a Tori Amos song — the American singer-songwriter known for her piano-driven, deeply personal writing — reworked by Armand Van Helden into a full-blown dancefloor weapon. His 'Armand's Star Trunk Funkin' Mix', taken from the 1996 album Boys for Pele, is an all-time genre classic — huge bass, relentless groove, the mix that tore the roof off clubs back then and still does. On the flip, the MK (Marc Kinchen) versions pull the track into darker, deeper territory, headlined by the fearsome Vampire Dub. This coloured-vinyl reissue brings the four essential mixes back into rotation. Heavyweight stuff.
