Moodymann – Mahogany Brown LP (2x12")
Reissue of a stone-cold classic: Mahogany Brown, Moodymann's second album — real name Kenny Dixon Jr. — originally released on Peacefrog in 1998. The Detroit producer stamps his unmistakable signature all over it: dusky, soul-soaked house built from disco samples like no one else can. "Radio," "Sunshine" and the murky "Me And My Peoples Eyes" unfold that nocturnal, filtered, deeply lived-in groove that made Moodymann a deep house legend. Raw, warm, profoundly human — light-years from sterile studio productions. A cult record that has lost none of its power, finally back on brand-new double vinyl. Reserve it with your eyes closed.
