Mella Dee, real name Ryan Aitchison, born in Doncaster and based in London, remains one of England's most prolific producers, moving between house, techno and garage. On this second instalment of his Novum label he goes straight for the floor: "Higher Frequencies" and "Raw Flavour" open the A-side with raw, big-room house, while "Telling Me" keeps the groove locked in. To close, Harry McCanna — fabric London resident and NorthSouth Records co-founder — delivers a remix of "Higher Frequencies" that pushes the track into clubbier territory.
