New EP from Huerta, aka Steve Huerta, an L.A.-born, Berlin-based producer, out on his own Leizure label — the imprint he's been running since 2022. Familiar ground here: house that's both nostalgic and futuristic, groove-based and built for peak-time, in the vein of his releases on Slow Life, Small Hours and Slapfunk. 'Diesel Funk' opens the A-side with a rolling, funky groove, 'Average Tricks' follows with a drier shuffle; on the flip, 'Myths Untold' and 'Distant Planes' dig into the deeper, more hypnotic side of his sound.
