This is well before their stadium-rock era: everything floats here, between shimmering synths, Derek Forbes' round basslines and Jim Kerr's soaring vocals. « Promised You A Miracle », « Glittering Prize » and « Someone Somewhere In Summertime » have become new-wave classics, but the album also shines on dreamier moments like the title track « New Gold Dream (81-82-83-84) ». 2016 remaster on new vinyl, a clean pressing to rediscover a record that has aged beautifully.
