Kim Wilde – Another Step
Kim Wilde's fifth studio album, released in late 1986, Another Step marks the English singer's real return to the spotlight. It opens with her reworking of "You Keep Me Hangin' On" — the Supremes classic turned into synth-driven eighties pop — which became her biggest career hit and gave her a US number one on the Billboard Hot 100. Produced by her brother Ricky Wilde, the record moves from an uptempo first side ("Schoolgirl," "Say You Really Want Me," from the Running Scared soundtrack) to a mellower second half. "Another Step Closer (To You)," a duet with Junior Giscombe, rounds out the singles. New vinyl reissue on Demon Records, audio clips available on this page.
