Lana Del Rey – Blue Jeans

Pressed as a 2012 picture disc, this record takes « Blue Jeans », one of the key tracks from Lana Del Rey's Born to Die, and hands it to four remixers who pull it far from the original torch song. The highlight is Gesaffelstein's rework: the French producer delivers a dark, industrial techno version, right in the vein that made his name at the time. On the flip, Kris Menace and RAC push the song toward more melodic, dancefloor-friendly territory, while Penguin Prison brings an electronic-pop twist. One for Lana Del Rey fans and for anyone who likes hearing a pop ballad run through house and electro. The picture disc sleeve also makes it a fine collector's piece.
